Why can't we? As long as GOD is the center of our life, we surely can. I don't see why this has to be such an issue. The more money we make, the MORE I NEED GOD. How dumb it is when people feel money is their safety net. It can all be taken away in an instant, we all saw that with these crooked banks. Any one who feels money is the safety net in their lives are pretty lame. That goes for Christians and atheists.

So, what I'm hearing from you is we need to live in a shack in order to honor God? How on earth do we help people when one has NO MONEY.

My motto: The more we make, the more we GIVE. It's again, so simple, but everyone goes on a rant how it's not Godly to have anything that's of the earth. He put us here for a reason. Who else will help the poor if not for us Christians. The governments can give a rip less. Most churches are in it for themselves... the churches that do care, they can't help the entire world.

I get how money can change people, yeah, yeah, BUT I'll say it again... keep Christ in all things and you'll handle money just fine. If you see yourself go another direction, PRAY... he'll get you right back where you need to be.

If someone has a lovely home, the 'American Dream', the Lord is fine with that, however, he would not be fine with you having 10 more 'lovely' homes strewn across the world while people go without their basic needs, which is why it is hard for the rich man to enter the kingdom, because greed sets in. YOU don't have to have greed set in.

Sure is... don't say one thing and do another. Don't say yes when you really mean no. Our word should be as good as gold. Yes means yes and no means no, simple as that. People in the world don't like most Christians because most are hypocrites. If we all act the way JESUS wants us to act, then and only then will people be drawn in.

People have told me time and time again that I'm 'real' and they know I won't lie to them, they know I say it/tell it like it is and although I'm not always the most 'diplomatic' person, at least they know it's real, down to earth and true.

What I find hilarious... when he says we're ALL to 'suffer' and not 'want' this or that, etc... but he takes his 14/15 year old down Sunset, takes her shopping all day long for who knows how long, then tells us how we don't need all this 'stuff', I guess she needs all this 'stuff' though, they get her a 'cell' phone, she was sooooo excited about a cell phone, he picks her up in a porsche, even goes on to say the colour, blah, blah, blah... hmmm, BUT we're ALL not allowed to get excited about stuff.

I just find it funny how they pick what they want, when they want and the rest of the world is put down for being happy.

Ben,

Well said. In my early years of discipleship under the tutelage of Jack Hayford, I learned that there was an attitude about the Kingdom’s (righteousness, peace and joy) advance that had to do with me becoming a ground taker versus a ground holder (which somehow always turned into a ground loser in my case).

30years later I discovered that the missing component of Kingdom living and dominion (winning the spiritual war) is authentic (and even intimate) community. As I have added the horizontal dimensions of deep friendship, open, trusting sharing and chosen to both guard the back of these few fellow warrior-friends of mine and allowed them to know me in such a way to guard my weak side as well, then the experience of moving for3ard in His Kingdom dynamic where I live and move has become a reality.

See the new book '"Called to War" at www.calledtowar.com, for a great book that practically and biblically does a deep dive here.
